Hi! I’m Jae,

A freshman Psychology major, Political Science minor from Colorado Springs, Colorado, by way of the Philippines.

Born and raised in Angeles City, Pampanga and Mariveles, Bataan, I grew up in a Philippine household speaking both English and my native language, Tagalog, fluently. Growing up as a kid, I would find myself naturally drawn to leadership positions and actively participating in leadership opportunities. Surrounded by a family who placed God and education first before anything, I always strived to be among the best, if not the best, of my peers.

The year of my 3rd grade in elementary school was when it all truly started. My school was hosting our annual student council elections and the presidential candidates got to select who they would like to recruit to be the representatives of the different grade levels. In my case, 3rd grade students. Out of all my peers, I was chosen to run for the position and I successfully won the title. That year, I knew what it felt like to win a leadership position, not because of how you advertise yourself but because of how people truly view you--and that's how people view me, as a leader. Being voted 3rd grade representative inspired me to continue my career of being a student leader--that I am pursuing to this day as a college freshman. With over 8 years of student government, council and leadership experiences, I have worked with thousands of students with different interests, plans, personalities, and goals and I learned how to properly interact, communicate, and adapt myself to their needs. Over the years, I have led countless numbers of teams to success in different program-centered events, club only events, school events, university events, community-wide events, etc.

If there is anything in this world that will not fail me, it is my leadership and the lessons that I have learned from the challenges that I have overcame to hone my skills and my talents. Even as I moved to an unfamiliar country, one that I have never stepped foot in before, I was unafraid to try new things despite the difficult transition. I successfully graduated within the top 3% of my class as a distinguished honor student, superintendent scholar, NHS member, blue crew leader, varsity cheerleader and most importantly, Vice President elect and the senior address speaker of my graduating class.
